Educating future generations
The best history lesson we can give our kids is to not just read books but to speak with our war veterans, ask questions, be shown our memorabilia and get to touch and feel it. Even ride in a 1942 Willy’s Jeep that was used in New Guinea!
Recently, a group of Year 10 Notre Dame students got to do just that and we are sure they went away with a whole new appreciation of our past.
As part of their Personal Development and Work Related Skills Classes, two Year 12 VCAL students from Shepparton High School recently donated a handmade seat in commemoration of the ANZACs.
Although originally planned to be located next to the Lone Pine Tree within the school grounds, we are thrilled they decided to donate it to the Sub-Branch instead.
