Our community has dug deep and records have been broken!

After last year’s COVID-19 lockdowns cancelled the Anzac Appeal, Shepparton has bounced back better than ever, breaking records with this year’s fundraising haul.

Across the Goulburn Valley, almost $65,000 was raised through this year’s Anzac Appeal to support veterans.

Additionally, numerous organisations have raised money to be donated directly to the Shepparton RSL for local veteran welfare.

Through a special Welfare Raffle of donated prizes, sponsored by Kreskas Bros Transport, more than $3000 was raised. Fryers Street Food Store raised approximately $500 from its sales of Anzac biscuits and Lifestyle Shepparton collected $1528 through its art sales.

“It’s a great contribution, and shows great support,” Shepparton RSL president Bob Wilkie said. “The money will go towards the welfare of our veterans, including financial support and activities.

“This money is really needed after last year’s appeal. We didn’t get anything last year, so this is very much appreciated.”

Handing over their fundraising cheque, Lifestyle Shepparton’s Marcia Greig said it was an honour to support local veterans.

“It’s a debt we can never repay,” Ms Greig said.

“We want to ensure we’re doing things to support the community outside our Lifestyle community.

Meet some of our wonderful volunteers!

The incredible results wouldn’t have been possible without these volunteers, who manned stalls in Shepparton and Mooroopna throughout the appeal.
